Youth:  Miriam and Noah Wk, Paul Vs, Dylan and Caleb Mr Py-decided to raise money for the Heifer Project by participating in a Read To Feed project.  They will keep
track of the number of pages they read for the next month.  At the end, they will combine their number of pages read.  If you would like to sponsor them for 1-5 cents per
page or more, please respond to this email or talk to a youth.  Give a hoot, give poverty the boot.

The Facilities Committee has been working busily, if invisibly, since our last report to the congregation in December, 2006.  Most of you will know that this committee is working with two other partners to design and build a jointly-owned facility that can be used by all partners.

On November 28, 2006 we submitted an application to Lodi Township for preliminary approval of our project.  The township’s response to our application required that we gather additional information about the nature of the site we are working with.  The departure of a fourth partner from the venture in November and the higher-than-acceptable cost of our first design have also had an impact on our work.

We have recently concluded work on redesigning the building and site plan in response to all of these constraints. We are re-submitting these plans along with an application for a ‘special use’ permit to Lodi Township with the expectation of being on the April 24 agenda.

While that process goes forward, we are also planning a pair of meetings to present these plans to the congregation.  Those meetings will take place after church on Sunday, April 15, and Sunday, April 22.  We ask everyone to make an effort to participate in those meetings.  We will also have a packet of information available for all that will cover at least much of what will be presented at those meetings.

A  more detailed version of this announcement will be e-mailed today; printed copies are available on the lobby table for anyone who does not use e-mail.

This is to let everyone know that the next Mom's Small Group will be Thursday, March 22 , 2007 at Gertrude Wn's home at 7:30 pm.  All are welcome.  If you have
questions, please don't hesitate to contact me Patti Sg

If you have Congregational concerns, please contact the Congregational Life Committee.  Janet Ry, Patti Sr, or Dave Py .

SERVICE OUTREACH

Property Disposal Department.  Ten folding wooden chairs are available for anyone who needs a few spare chairs around the house.  These are remnants from the historic days of the ‘basement church.’  They are presently in Nelson Sz’s workshop but will not be kept after April 15.  A small donation to Shalom’s coffers is suggested.  Talk to Nelson:.

Luke 22:31 ‘Simon, Simon, listen! Satan has demanded to sift all of you like wheat, 32but I have prayed for you that your own faith may not fail; and you, when once you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.’ 33And he said to him, ‘Lord, I am ready to go with you to prison and to death!’ 34Jesus said, ‘I tell you, Peter, the cock will not crow this day, until you have denied three times that you know me.’

Luke 22: 54 Then they seized him and led him away, bringing him into the high priest’s house. But Peter was following at a distance. 55When they had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat among them. 56Then a servant-girl, seeing him in the firelight, stared at him and said, ‘This man also was with him.’ 57But he denied it, saying, ‘Woman, I do not know him.’ 58A little later someone else, on seeing him, said, ‘You also are one of them.’ But Peter said, ‘Man, I am not!’ 59Then about an hour later yet another kept insisting, ‘Surely this man also was with him; for he is a Galilean.’ 60But Peter said, ‘Man, I do not know what you are talking about!’ At that moment, while he was still speaking, the cock crowed. 61The Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said to him, ‘Before the cock crows today, you will deny me three times.’ 62And he went out and wept bitterly.
