Youth:  Miriam and Noah Wk, Paul Vs, Dylan and Caleb Mr Py-decided to raise money for the Heifer Project by participating in a Read To Feed project.  They will keep
track of the number of pages they read for the next month.  At the end, they will combine their number of pages read.  If you would like to sponsor them for 1-5 cents per
page or more, please respond to this email or talk to a youth.  Give a hoot, give poverty the boot.

Chris and Emily:  Volunteers who wish to provide a meal may either take the meal to them or bring a meal to church and they will come and get it.  Examine your
calendar and call or email me Betsy Hy with days that would be good for you.  It is important to LET Betsy KNOW so she can distribute the meals over the longest time possible and so they don't get 8 meals one week and 1 the next. She will inform Chris and Emily who is bringing food.  If you bring food to their home it is your
responsibility to call them and make a mutually good drop-off time.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

"Refusing To Be Enemies" ICPJ hosted a special clergy and religious leaders screening of the trailer for the upcoming movie, "Refusing to Be Enemies."  The response was so positive, we've decided to host two more.  When: 7:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19 and Thursday, March 8 , WHERE:  Memorial Christian Church, 730 Tappan.  WHO: Clergy and other leaders in the religious community such as members of Church Councils, Synagogue Boards, or Social Action Committees, along with members
of the Zeitouna Jewish-Arab women's dialogue group.  Why: To learn about the exciting work of the Zeitouna dialogue group in advance of the world premiere of the documentary, "Refusing to be Enemies," at the Michigan Theater on Sunday, March 18 at 7:00 p.m.  RSVP Requested. For more information, call ICPJ at 734-663-1870
or email chuck@icpj.net

About the Movie: The film, "Refusing To Be Enemies" profiles the twelve women of a local dialogue group called Zeitouna ("olive" in Arabic) and documents their developing relationship over a four-year period. Six of the Zeitouna women are of Arab descent and six are of Jewish descent. Some are native born and some are immigrants. What they all have in common is their humanity and their desire to bridge the gulf that has developed between their two communities. They chose the Israeli-Palestinian conflict as the focus of the group and use the dialogue process as a means of personal transformation leading to socio-political transformation.

Romans 12:9-21                    [On genuine love]

Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good; love one another with mutual affection; outdo one another in showing honor. Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord. Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer. Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.

Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly; do not claim to be wiser than you are. Do not repay anyone evil for evil, but take thought for what is noble in the sight of all. If it is possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all. Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave room for the wrath of God; for it is written, ‘Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.’ No, ‘if your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them something to drink; for by doing this you will heap burning coals on their heads.’ Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. The New Revised Standard Version
